The path of life

Vassi was born on 14th of July 1984 in Smolian, Bulgaria. He is son of a DJ, and he grows up in the clubs in Smolian and Pamporovo. His career as a DJ starts when he is only 14 years old in the biggest club in his town. In 2 years Vassi becomes one of the leading DJs in the region; his name appears on every big event in town. When he is 17, Vassi starts playing in major clubs in the winter resort of Pamporovo. Working mainly with English and Irish party people, Vassi gets influenced with UK disco and house sound. Bands like Basement Jaxx, X-Press 2, Shake Down, Shapeshifters and DJs like Pete Tong and Boy George make a big impression on him.

In 2003 Vassi and his father open a small night club in the town, where he tries to play the house music he likes. After a few parties the club is one of the busiest places, house lovers can go. His style then is funky and tribal with sexy vocals. He gets very popular among the people and he is soon offered to play at the closing party of the biggest event for traditional music in Smolian, The Orpheus Festival, in front of 3000 people. After a year of successful playing in his own club and several big open gigs he decides to look for something else.

In 2004 he goes to Golden sands and play there during the whole season. He becomes a resident of a big club called Scream, and takes a lot of gigs in 2 beach bars. After good season he gets back to Pamporovo to play at the biggest club there. After a good winter season he is noticed by DJ Steven and gets a gig in the coolest house place in Bulgaria, Chervilo club, with DJ Doncho in the main room.

During the summer of 2005 he spins in Veliko Tarnovo. Vassi is the first resident of club Jack and after several months he gets some gigs in best disco there Organza and makes some great after parties at Bacardi's club. In the winter season of 2005/2006 Vassi is the main DJ in the 5 stars bar in Hotel Pamporovo, where he presents the hottest tracks in UK house scene. Playing only for English people he gets a little influenced by electronic and darky sound of London. With his deep and groove bass lines mixed with electro sound Vassi is one of the pioneers in Pamporovo to play that sort of music.

Summer of 2006 he is in Golden Sands again playing at English club, and also getting a few gigs in some of the beach bars. After a good set of summer parties, Vassi is offered to visit Ibiza. There he plays at 3 private parties with 6 hour sets each. His sets combine electro, minimal and some progressive elements. Vassi meets many of the best playing DJs like Luciano, Loco Dice, Tania Volcano, Smokin' Jo and many more. The experience he gets there is precious for him as he is not able to receive the same in Bulgaria. He is not a big name or a star in DJing but Vassi is definitely a talented young lad who is looking for his place in big house scene. He always says that hard work and practice are the way to the top. Loyal only to his taste of house music, he tries to combine, electronic sound with minimal and porgy elements, some vocals and live instruments. His future plans are to produce his own tracks, remixing and building a studio with his father.
